Fue gracias a Urchin y su software hom\u00f3nimo, de quienes hemos heredado hasta hoy t\u00e9rminos como <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hit<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pageview<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UTM<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, etc.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads_old\/2018\/11\/Imagen-1-Urchin.png\"\/><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En abril de 2005, Google adquiri\u00f3 la compa\u00f1\u00eda dando lugar a lo que hoy todos conocemos como <strong>Google Analytics<\/strong>. Y desde entonces, lo \u00fanico que nos recuerda los or\u00edgenes de la anl\u00edtica web es la <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UTM<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (sigla de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Urchin Tracking Module<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) y que hoy sirve a todas las compa\u00f1\u00edas del mundo para analizar sus campa\u00f1as online.<\/span>  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.makingscience.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como profesionales del marketing digital en <strong>Making Science<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ejecutamos esta t\u00e9cnica diariamente con nuestros clientes y as\u00ed somos capaces de recibir los datos que necesitan para medir el rendimiento de sus campa\u00f1as y respaldar una idea o cambiar de direcci\u00f3n.<\/span>  &nbsp;  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo? A trav\u00e9s de un sencillo c\u00f3digo que se adjunta a tu URL y que sirve para rastrear la fuente, el medio y el nombre de la campa\u00f1a. Es decir, para que Google Analytics te chive de d\u00f3nde provienen los usuarios y qu\u00e9 campa\u00f1a les dirigi\u00f3 hasta tu sitio web. Baj\u00e1ndolo a la Tierra, esta URL personalizada (con UTMs) te posibilita seguir el rendimiento de un anuncio en un peri\u00f3dico online, un post en redes sociales, un cup\u00f3n de descuento, etc. sin necesidad de crear p\u00e1ginas de destino espec\u00edficas para cada campa\u00f1a.<\/span>  &nbsp;  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuando el usuario clicka sobre una de estas URLs personalizadas, los par\u00e1metros UTM son interpretados por el software que estemos utilizando para medir nuestro sitio web y as\u00ed es como se atribuye la sesi\u00f3n a una campa\u00f1a, fuente y medio.<\/span>  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9ste es el aspecto que tiene nuestra URL de ejemplo<\/span>  <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.tudominio.com\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=campana_de_prueba<\/span><\/i>  &nbsp;  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Y as\u00ed es c\u00f3mo lo vemos en Google Analytics, por ejemplo:<\/span>  &nbsp;  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*reporte de campa\u00f1as:<\/span><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads_old\/2018\/11\/Imagen-3-fuente-y-medio.png\"\/><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*reporte de fuente y medio:<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Puedes generar estas URLs manualmente (sustituyendo los valores que acompa\u00f1an a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utm_source<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utm_medium<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, y <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utm_campaign<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) o usar el sencillo <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ga-dev-tools.appspot.com\/campaign-url-builder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">generador de Google<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Debes tener en cuenta que si tienes una app debes seguir un proceso distinto tanto para <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/analytics\/devguides\/collection\/android\/v4\/campaigns#google-play-url-builder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Android<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> como para <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/analytics\/devguides\/collection\/ios\/v3\/campaigns?hl=es-419\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">iOS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span>  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visto esto, debes saber que puedes ir m\u00e1s all\u00e1 incluyendo otros dos valores a la URL para monitorear los t\u00e9rminos que busca el usuario o incluso el contenido de un anuncio. <\/span>  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A\u00f1adiendo <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utm_term<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> puedes utilizar palabras clave (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">keywords<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) como \u2018seguro de coche\u2019, \u2018coj\u00edn navide\u00f1o\u2019, \u2018cerrajero urgente\u2019, etc.:<\/span>  <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.tudominio.com\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=campana_de_prueba&amp;<\/span><\/i><b><i>utm_term=cojin+navideno<\/i><\/b>  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Y con <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">utm_content<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> puedes poner en marcha un test A\/B o anuncios dirigidos a la misma url con distinto contenido (para medir cu\u00e1l funciona mejor)<\/span>  https:\/\/www.tudominio.com\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=campana_de_prueba&amp;<strong>utm_content=logolink<\/strong>  https:\/\/www.tudominio.com\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=campana_de_prueba&amp;<strong>utm_content=textlink<\/strong>  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ya no tienes excusa para iniciar una estrategia basada en tus URLs personalizadas.<\/span>  &nbsp;  &nbsp;  &nbsp;  &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads_old\/2018\/11\/Imagen-2-campanas.png\"\/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es y para qu\u00e9 sirve una UTM?
